Exclusive: T-Pain Goes Country. Talks Upcoming Collaborations with Luke Bryan & Taylor Swift
There were many storylines that emanated from the Kansas City Chiefs fourth-quarter win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Tyreek Hill’s catch from a 44-yard Patrick Mahomes throw giving the Chiefs their first touchdown since the first quarter is one of them.
However, for gamers everywhere what the Chiefs quarterback did was also break the now-infamous Madden curse. Having been the face of the Madden 20 football video game this year, many thought the Chiefs were doomed.
However, the Chiefs 31-20 Super Bowl LIV triumph made Mahomes the second (of 22) Madden NFL cover stars to win a Super Bowl in the season of his cover appearance.
Also, Mahomes is now the first cover star to win the Super Bowl MVP in that season.
New England tight end Rob Gronkowski made the cover of Madden NFL 17. His Patriots team won Super Bowl LI that year but Gronkowski was out for the season after the 11th week.
This makes Mahomes the first Madden cover star to play in and win a Super Bowl (and its MVP).
What a way to kick off Black History Month!
