Revis Gets The Big Buc(k)s
In case you didn’t hear the news yesterday the New York Jets traded CB Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What the Jets’ got in return was the Bucs first round pick (13th overall) and a conditional pick in next year’s draft.
Where the Jets might not have met Revis in regards to money when he contract was up is where the Bucs certainly could meet him. Revis has signed a 6-year deal worth $96 million. This now puts Revis as one of the top two highest paid defensive players in the league alongside Buffalo’s Mario Williams.
It will be interesting to see what happens Week 1 when the Buccaneers are scheduled to play the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Here are Darrelle Revis’ farewell tweets to Jets fans.
