#MyTop5: Ca$H Out Names His Top Stoner Films

This week, TheSource.com hits you with #MyTop5 featuring Ca$h Out who briefly talks about his favorite stoner movies.  Throughout his mixtape, Keisha, Ca$h Out had a few skits from famous stoner movies such as Half Baked and Friday, so it was only fitting that we delve into the rapper’s favorite stoner films and what moments he particularly was a fan of.

Up in Smoke (1978) – This was the first feature length film brought to you by the Grammy award winning comedy tag team Cheech and Chong. The duo spent several years doing comedy before creating their first project and became a huge box-office success during its time.  Ca$h Out recalls their smoke sessions in the car as a personal favorite of his.

Half Baked (1998) – This stoner joint has become a fan favorite despite the lack of success following its release. One of the best things about Half Baked was the vast amount of cameos throughout.  The ridiculous schemes the two friends would do to get their friend out of jail, including selling weed, made Ca$h Out a fan. 

How High (2001) – Probably one of the most acclaimed stoner projects in the genre, How High is highly favored upon by the rapper.  Rivaling most buddy films, Method Man and Redman create a cult following with the comedy. Not naming an individual scene, Ca$h Out is a fan of everything about the movie.

Friday (1995) – Ca$h Out names this as a standout among his favorites and who can blame him? “Damn!” is a recognized line and was nominated for AFI’s 100 Years…100 Movie Quotes.” With a budget of $3.5 million and raking in a total of $28 million, Friday was perceived as a great success.

Pineapple Express (2008) – Pineapple Express has emerged itself among the greats in the stoner genre.  Ca$h Out relates to a particular scene when Seth Rogen smokes during a stakeout in an attempt to serve some court papers. During the stakeout, his character witnesses a murder and trips out, Ca$h Out recalls smoking in his car and police officers being near by.

Ca$h Out is a huge supporter of marijuana and says “I will support it til the end.  I love natural things.” The rapper’s debut album, Patience, will be released in 2013.
